Barry C. Brown, CPA, MCP
Director of Technology

Barry is the Director of Technology for Moore Stephens Tiller, and provides solutions for IT needs ranging from the design, implementation and application of information systems. Much of Barry's work focuses on helping clients and staff members apply technology to increase operational efficiency and lower operational costs.

Over the years at Moore Stephens Tiller, Barry created the first WAN (wide area network) tying all of the Firm’s offices together to better leverage technology and staff members. Barry also led the Firm’s conversion to paperless audit and tax document management. Additionally, he led the Firm’s migration to a new Cisco IP based phone system, which will allow staff members to fully access the phone system and be connected to the office from anywhere in the world, via computer. Thanks to Barry, the Firm has technology systems in place to support a number of full-time telecommuting employees, in addition to giving audit staff members full access to network resources in the field.

Barry is also an experienced auditor with expertise in the application of technology to audit engagements. He has served as an in-charge accountant on audits for clients in a variety of industries, and is experienced in all aspects of the audit process, from planning and budgeting to management and review.

Barry augments his technical expertise through membership on the Technology Committee for Moore Stephens North America, the Georgia Society of CPA's, as well as a regular attendee of the AICPA Tech conferences and other technology conferences.

Before joining Moore Stephens Tiller in 1996, Barry spent five years with BellSouth Telecommunications and ran an information technology consulting business. He is a native Georgian, and holds bachelor degrees in economics and accounting from the University of Georgia.

His interests include computer design, golf and reading.
